I'm so excited I just got a new product to try out. Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love technology.

This technology is ground breaking in that it gives us the opportunity to speak and have our words turned to text. This is revolutionary for people like me who speak better than we write.

In fact, the average person typically speaks at 120 words per minute, but only types at 40 words per minute. So you can see just how time-saving this software can be.

As someone who is slightly attention deficit if I have to spend hours creating a document when I could simply speak it in a few minutes this sounded like the product for me. So I tried it out.

This is what I learned:

Dragon speak is easy to load and comes with audio and video tutorials that help you get started. In addition, the tutorials are interactive. Using video, it shows the example and then allows you to try yourself so it's very educational.

In addition, one of the most exciting features that I found was that I could create my own text shortcuts. For example, when I say WomenCorp it may include the format I like of "WomenCorp", rather than womencorp. It also could insert a hyperlink for my company or address or whatever I want just from what I've trained it to recognize.

You can even train it to recognize your dialect. This comes in handy when your regional accent affects the ability of Dragon Speak to interpret what you said. For example, I come from the southern United States and around here, the typical southerner has a heavy accent that can be unclear to a computer program.

Here's an example. In most of the US people say "you all" or just plain "you" when referring to several people at once. Here, we say "y'all" but Dragon Speak interpretes that as "all". So, I typed in the word, then trained it with my voice and now it types "y'all" perfectly!

Isn't that amazing! A software program that YOU can train..and it's super easy to do. You simply train it to understand you.

I don't understand how works, but I do know that it's a timesaver once you learn how to use it.

The one negative that I found was that you have to practice before Hittites perfectly for you. You'll notice in the previous sentence, I actually said "it types" and it understood me as Hittites. All I had to do was say "select Hittites" and it corrects either by my selecting from a range of five choices it offers or by my spelling what I want. From then on it recognizes my particular accent for that phrase and types correctly. Wow!

You can also train it as you go. Simply select words to delete or edit as you note it types incorrectly. So if it makes a mistake, you can correct it immediately as you watch it type.

So if you want to save time writing documents, or if you are attention deficit like me and get bored typing documents, or even if you just want to speed up the process of typing documents, then I suggest you give it a try. The small price of just $99 is certainly worth your time isn't it?
