Avtech Software Inc. is now shipping the Room Alert 26W, which offers secure monitoring of large numbers of wireless sensors in IT environments and other facilities. The new model uses a private protocol that is ZigBee compatible to transmit sensor data to the Room Alert unit. It features built-in sensors for temperature, humidity, power, and flood. Also, a built-in UPS allows the unit to transmit alerts when a power failure occurs and automatic server shutdown capabilities to protect IT equipment when data-center temperatures exceed set thresholds.
